1. Overview
PinCast helps you discover and play podcasts, capture recent audio as Pins, and turn those moments into structured notes. This policy explains the information processed when you use PinCast and the choices available to you.
2. Information you provide
Account information
If you create or sign in to an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, display name, authentication provider, and an account identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, those providers also process the information needed to complete sign-in. PinCast does not receive or store your account password directly.
Pins and user content
Pins may include a short audio segment, transcript, edited text, structured notes, and links. Captured Pin content and audio are stored locally on your device in the current version. Cloud sync for Pins is not currently enabled.
3. AI processing
When you capture a Pin or request supported AI features, relevant podcast audio or transcript text may be sent to OpenAI to perform transcription and create structured content. This processing is used to provide the feature you requested, not for advertising. Avoid capturing sensitive or confidential information.
4. Analytics and diagnostics
PinCast uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage, reliability, app version, device category, operating-system version, approximate region, and general interaction patterns. Signed-in sessions may be associated with an opaque Firebase user identifier.
Analytics events are designed not to include your search text, podcast titles, transcripts, captured audio, URLs, email address, display name, or raw error messages. PinCast does not use analytics data for cross-app tracking or advertising.
5. Podcast discovery and playback
PinCast uses Apple services and publisher podcast feeds to provide charts, search, artwork, episode information, and audio playback. Requests to those services may include standard network information such as your IP address, device information, and the content requested.
6. Sync and local storage
App preferences, recent listening, and Pins are stored on your device. If you sign in, favorites may be synchronized through Firebase so they can be restored for your account. Removing the app may remove locally stored data that has not been synchronized or exported.
7. Service providers
PinCast relies on providers that process information for us:
- Google Firebase for authentication, analytics, remote configuration, and supported synchronization.
- OpenAI for audio transcription and structured AI output.
- Apple for App Store distribution, podcast discovery, Sign in with Apple, and platform services.
8. Retention and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it in PinCast, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Account information and synchronized favorites may remain until they are deleted or your account is closed, subject to service-provider and legal retention requirements.
You can delete your account directly in PinCast under Settings → Delete account. For complete steps, see the account-deletion page. If you cannot access the app, email insta2apps@gmail.com from your account email address. We may need to verify account ownership before completing the request.
9. Children
PinCast is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age.
10. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PinCast changes. The latest version will be posted here with a revised date.
